The damn horses ripped the t-posts and wire from around the tree we planted to add shade. Then... they ate it...... they have grassy pastures plus this dry lot with a round bale of hay. Arrghhh...
This blog is my way of sharing tiny tidbits and moments around our hobby farm. Some tidbits may be informative while others are simply for humor. Enjoy!

Spring is Here!!!
Spring is here! Although
green pastures help reduce the need to purchase expensive hay, a horse needs to
be transitioned slowly. They should be allowed to graze for an hour or so
initially. Adding grazing time slowly (an hour or two each day) will reduce the
impact the change in diet has on their gut and will decrease the risk of colic
or founder. If restricting the actual grazing time is unfeasible, using a
grazing muzzle can be the next best thingJ. Happy grazing!!!
