Ayla... My steady-Eddie:).

Ayla is my heart horse... Haven't really ridden her in 2 years. Got on her yesterday and it was like no time had lapsed at all:). This is what happens when you combine good breeding, a great training foundation, trust, and love. I spend a lot of time with her, but just haven't ridden in a while. Going to be focusing on getting back into horse shape over the next two months... 

Barn Quilt on Horse Run In

I got the newest barn quilt hung on the horse's run in shelter. Of course, Paisley is under foot, as always:).

I'd Say He Is Desensitized to Snakes:)

Bug surprised the heck out of me today. He snatched this snake up (chomping on it) and slung it around for a good minute.... I guess he's desensitized enough, lol... 

Chloe's Abcess

Opened up Chloe's abcess and it's now draining. Wrapped up with an Intex pad and is soaking... Stinks to hi-heaven and will smell worse when I remove the wrapping after 24  hours, but is already better. She isn't limping as bad... 

DIY Waterproof Matches

Why pay crazy money for "waterproof" matches??? YES... They are handy to have when camping, exploring, in a bug out bag, horse pack, survival bag, etc... 

They are easy-peasy to make yourself. All you need to do is paint the end (including half of the wooden match stick) with clear fingernail polish and let dry... 

Voila!!! You have waterproof matches:)!

Black Gold

From "poo" to "wooooooo-hooooooo!"

Black gold, or composted material is a nutritionally packed soil that is wonderful for gardens and pastures. Buying black gold from a store can be overwhelmingly expensive. If you have farm animals (goats, chickens, sheep, horses, bison, cows, etc...), WHY NOT make your own??? After a short couple of seasons, your pile of poo will be transformed into a valuable commodity you can either decide to use or sell:). 

I say "wooo-hooo" to poo:)!!!

Big Baby

Paisley is going to be one tall horse. Her butt is already higher than my 16'1" (almost 16'2") percheron. Pailsey is clydesdale and paint x. She will not turn 2 until June and will not be "started" under saddle until 3.5 years of age because of her draft lineage.

Gypsy Vanner

I am so lucky to have met and ridden Shandy Blackfeathers, a beautiful Gypsy Vanner stallion a couple of days ago. He rode in an outdoor arena with a mare and had no issues.... In love!!!

Horse Blankets

Temps will be getting down into the low 20's tonight. If the weather report calls for rain also, I will be blanketing my horses, to their dislike. I don't want one especially, fighting to maintain weight.... Uggg..... The "musts" of a horsey mom:). lol.
